The Buena Vista Student Council has been very hard at work this semester with the planning of prom, among many other events. With many student voices from various backgrounds, this year has made a profoundly positive difference for students at our school.
One thing that certainly makes a positive difference in the school is the impact on decision-making.
“Students can feel more involved with decision making through student council,” stated Sarai Zapata, a member of since the beginning of the school year.
Sarai also noted that one way the Student Council has benefited the school is by making it more exciting for students to know that their peers have input into our school.
This group of students has a wide variety of opinions and ideas, but collaboratively work together to make the final decision.
“The Student Council makes sure everyone’s opinion is heard,”shares Abygail Hernandez, a freshman member.
From planning spirit weeks to decorating school, the students have worked hard this year to make BV a fun and inviting place.
“I like the fun activities that the Student Council sets up for students,” explains Jai Ruelas, freshman.
The Student Council brings benefits to the school and students by providing events, increasing morale, and assisting with activities throughout the school. The Student Council provides these benefits through collaboration with other organizations by creating flyers and announcements to promote school spirit. The Student Council plans fun activities like pep rallies and spirit weeks to foster a positive environment and encourage school spirit and involvement, impacting many students.
